Rachel Folden is a minor league hitting coach and lead lab tech in the Chicago Cubs Organization. Her company Folden Fastpitch also partners with Elite Baseball to provide hitting consultation for college, high school and youth baseball and softball teams.
A former player in the National Professional Fastpitch(NPF), Rachel retired after the 2012 season. Folden played for two teams the Carolina Diamonds and the Chicago Bandits. She was named the NPF Rookie of the Year in 2008, and was a 4 time all NPF catcher and the 2011 offensive player of the year. Rachel is also a 2 time NPF champion(2008.2011 Chicago Bandits). Folden was drafted out of Marshall University where she was a 4 time NFCA Division 1 All-American and where she is still the career record holder for Batting Average, Hits, Homeruns, RBI’s, Walks and Total Bases. In 2019 Marshall University inducted Rachel into their Hall of Fame. Prior to joining the Cubs organization and founding Folden Fastpitch, Rachel served as an assistant softball coach at Valparaiso University and Holy Names University. Prior to that Rachel was a head high school softball coach.
